3Rs Horse Rescue Centre

Gordon and Susan took over the lease for the farm (formerly called Kirkclaugh), on the 1st March 2016.

They initially moved with seven of their own horses and came up with the idea of starting a rescue centre. This wasn’t new to them as over the years they have taken in horses and rehomed them when they had the time and space. In fact two of the original seven were rescues and are still very much part of the family.

In Sept 2017 they achieved charity status after years of funding the centre themselves

Gordon works as a Stockman on other farms as well as care, feeding and maintenance at the centre.

Susan works as a teacher in the local authority, four days a week and all their spare time is spent at the centre doing what they love to do... spending time with the horses.
