Another hot one....

Didnt post yesterday as I got dragged away to collect a car with Suz... sorry folks.

So yesterday was taken up with my usual rounds before it got to hot, I got mugged by Glasgow, Pat & Stan and as you can see from the photo they found the mints!!!

'The story of the mints' Those of you older than me will remember the big pandrops (pandraps) you used to buy by the quarter, big flat round ones... the story begins on one hot day many years ago when I was a young hill herd over in the Borders. At handlin (getherin) times the herds got together to help bring the hill sheep in.. usually about 6 of us and about 20 dogs and auld Wull Tampsun (Thomson) who was 78 was the chauffeur. Wull would drop us off and we would walk to the top of the hill and gether the sheep herding them down to the sheep fank (pens) near the bottom of the glen. We'd be at the top of the hill at 6.30am and we uldnay make to the fank until 11am.... both men and dogs knackered. We were met there by Auld Wull and sat and had breakfast before starting the clipping.

Just before getting started Wull asked if we wanted a Pandrap, we didnay refuse and Wull dutifully handed them out. Just as we started sookin away on the mints Wull announced 'spit the first twa sooks oot boys as I'm a wee bit incontinence noo'..... well that was 6 pandraps hitting the dykes like missiles as we run to the burn to rince out our mouths .... we never accepted any mints or anything else from Auld Wull after that. Poor soul will be long gone now..... as has the getherin. Thats when herds and dogs were fit.....

So getting back to the boys and the mints, incontinent or not I don’t think it would bother this bunch...

Once back in the yard I took a wee sturshie and decided that all the wood, pallets and reels were getting moved... they have bugged me for weeks so wi my trusty sidekick, Haggis, we got stuck in. Was rolling one of the cable reels when Haggis obviously thought this was a wee game and nearly got run over, I stopped it with my arm and managed to scratch the stupidest wee bit on my wrist and hells teeth its burned ever since, now under Susan tender care and got slapped with some Aloe Vera stuff so will be better tomorrow (suppose it could be worse it usually is purple spray and an ice pop)

After that I was away to get said car...

I'll post more after my weekend wi the gang because no one knows what those lot have planned or where I'll end up...
